The Meuse river basin

The river Meuse flows from its source in France (plateau de Langres) via Belgium to its river mouth in the west of the Netherlands, where it empties into the North Sea.

The Meuse river basin covers an area of approximately 34 500 kmB, including parts of France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands with a population density of 250 per kmB and about 9 million in total.
